With the triumph of hope that a single bloom brings to a charred vine, Spring Mountain Vineyard is at last met with blue skies and clean air. We can now exhale with trust and return to our mission with pride and energy renewed.
This fall, rather than harvesting grapes, our vineyard team is working hard to clear our byways of fallen trees and other debris to tenderly prepare our vines for 2021. Instead of handpicking ripened fruit for a wonderful new vintage, this time around our winemaking team is taking every possible step to ensure that our earlier vintages are protected and as spectacular as ever, and that the winery is best outfitted to take on the 2021 crop.
While that is our current reality on the production side of the house, our sales team is busy responding to your overwhelming support for our wines. Your collective response to our tragedy has been profoundly inspirational and healing for us. Humbly and with love, we thank you all, from the top and the bottom of our hearts.
Imagine the range of our emotions upon witnessing the vast destruction of our buildings, but then seeing the miraculous resilience in our vines. In case you are curious as to the extent of the ferocity of the damage, a number of photographs of the fire and its aftermath are accessible here or directly by following the link below. You might run across some attractive deals there too, by the way.
Gratefully, we can report that our staff is heathy and safe, their homes intact. Our vineyard manager, Ron, and his family have taken up temporary residence in the Miravalle mansion, which, as you know, is still standing only due to his heroic efforts. The Spring Mountain AVA is swarming with Cal Fire crews protecting us from possible flare ups, while PG&E is quickly replacing fallen poles and repairing our power lines. It certainly takes a village, and this village is truly hard at work.
To our precious friends, you have led us with hope and good cheer, and we will respond with a fervent passion to restore the serenity and the beauty we have all come to treasure at Spring Mountain Vineyard. So, despite being a little charred at the corners, we encourage and deeply look forward to your next visit to the estate. It would be so wonderful to smile together, share our stories, and raise a glass to the remarkable human capacity borne from simple hope. Please make it soon.
